Reading about this simple, one-letter vandalism over at New York Shitty, I was reminded of Billy’s Topless, the bar that removed an apostrophe to become Billy Stopless to (unsuccessfully) get around the 90s prude laws imposed by Giuliani.

It was sad to walk by the old M Shanghai the other night and to see it so empty and void. We did however go to the new location which is nice and had a beer with Mae at the bar. The old place has been sitting empty for a good long while now and may it continue to do so!

The City of New York has replaced one of the bridges connecting the Bronx to upper Manhattan. The new bridge was floated down the Hudson river on multiple barges. Here it is motoring past Saugerties back in July of 2010.
